Inspired by the beautiful textures of the banksia plant, and the sharp contrast in it’s leaves. I painted this for a friends university graduating exhibition. The theme was black and white - something usually much beyond my comfort zone, but I want to challenge myself and play with the concept of space and orientation. I like how it lends itself to the interpretation of it’s audience, allowing them to choose how it might hang or be displayed.
